June 15th – The Happenings

June 13, 2011

THE CAPE LEGACY EDITION drops (ha) this coming Wednesday, June 15th. This is the only reprint of the sold-out one-shot, and includes Joe Hill’s original short story with my adaptation notes. If you missed THE CAPE back in December, here’s your chance to jump on before the miniseries starts in July.

To kick things off I’ll be at New England Comics in Brockton from 11-2 on Wednesday as a guest clerk. I always wanted to work for NEC when I was a kid, but those jerks ministers of 4-color goodness  never gave me a shot –18 years later, I’m finally gonna get my chance. So come on in and let’s shoot the shit about comics while I use my powers of persuasion to double your pull-list. You might get a little nervous when I slip that OWLY hardcover into your hands, but trust me, I’m a professional. Oh, and I’ll also be signing and making you feel uncomfortable if you try to walk away from the new release section without a copy of THE CAPE.

Later that night, from 5-8, I’ll be at Larry’s Wonderful World of Comics in Lowell. The theme for Larry’s weekly drink and draw is going to be THE CAPE, and I’ve worked up a 1-page script specifically for the event. The best interpretation of my script is going to be chosen and published in the back of a future issue of THE CAPE. That’s right I said PUBLISHED. I’ll also be talking about script writing, chatting up anyone who wants to listen, and scribbling my name all night.

Finally, I wrote an article for Fantasy Matters called: BIG BOYS DON’T FLY that talks about how THE CAPE came to be, and some bad fashion decisions I’ve made in the past. Look for it here Wednesday morning: FANTASY MATTERS

As always, come on out and say hi, I’d love to meet you.
